We’ve had a few long-term test vehicles in our ever-dwindling fleet, but the one we appreciate most is the Volvo V60. While it can’t match a BMW for driving dynamics—few vehicles can—it surpasses a Mercedes in many respects. As an overall package, I prefer a Volvo to any BMW because I’m not swayed by brand heritage or snobbery.
I don’t want a car that screams “Look at me”; I simply want a well-designed and well-executed vehicle. I’m after something quietly cool that also offers a serene driving experience, and the Volvo fits that bill perfectly. In fact, I no longer desire a BMW or Mercedes; Volvo has become my preferred alternative.
Enter the new Volvo EX90, the all-electric SUV that has been a long time in the making. US-based YouTube channel Out of Spec Reviews has gotten an early preview of a production-ready model. Unfortunately, a media embargo prevents a full road test, so we’re only getting a product overview for now.
I’m already sold on the EX90, so consider this article thoroughly biased.
