This Bank Holiday weekend’s Silverstone Festival (23-25 August) will pay a remarkable tribute to the legendary Ayrton Senna, showcasing the largest collection of his racing cars ever assembled at the circuit where he enjoyed unparalleled success.
The special one-off display at Silverstone highlights the most iconic moments of the Brazilian racing icon’s illustrious career. The centerpiece is a trio of McLaren MP4s from his Formula 1 World Championship-winning seasons in 1988, 1990, and 1991.
These championship-winning cars are joined by an impressive lineup, including the Williams FW08C—Senna’s first F1 test car from 1983, the Toleman-Hart TG183B in which he made his Grand Prix debut in 1984, and the black and gold JPS Lotus-Renault 97T that earned him his first Grand Prix victory in 1985.
An additional seven F1 cars raced by Senna throughout his decade-long career, which saw him achieve 41 wins and 80 podiums from 161 Grand Prix starts, are also on display to honour his incredible legacy.
The tribute extends beyond Formula 1, featuring three go-karts from Senna’s early competitive days, along with the three title-winning cars from his early career in British Formula Ford, British and European Formula Ford 2000, and the British Formula 3 Championships.
The display also includes two rally cars driven by Senna for a 1986 magazine feature, as well as a pair of Honda NSXs he both drove and helped develop. Additionally, limited-edition superbikes and supercars named after the South American star—three Ducati 916 Senna editions and two McLaren Sennas—round out this comprehensive tribute, open to all visitors in the circuit’s International Paddock.
Festival-goers on Saturday are in for a treat, with the Toleman-Hart TG183B and Lotus-Renault 97T taking to the track, driven by Senna’s nephew, Bruno Senna, himself a former F1 driver.
