No, the Porsche Taycan is not a hack to the future, it is the future. And this advertisement marks the evolution of the Taycan’s 1.21 gigawatts fast-charging network in Europe and America. And what better way to demonstrate this milestone by lining up fact with fiction. In this case, the fiction is the time-traveling DeLorean from the movie Back To The Future.
The Delorian required 1.21 “jigawatts” (a pun on gigawatts) to time travel. The Taycan’s charging network offers a combined 1.21 gigawatts of fast-charging capability. In reality, that means a Taycan owner can recharge from 0-80 percent in 22 minutes thanks to the 800-volt battery architecture and 270kW charge speed.
But the reality is, most people will not be able to afford a Porsche Taycan. For most people, the reality is… they will be able to afford the reality of downloading or streaming Back To The Future. Perhaps in this case fiction is more real than reality itself.
